I'm not going to give them points for thinking that Pong would be fun with a Wiimote many of us having been playing free flash versions of Pong on our Wii online for a while anyway. It's a good sit down, hang out, and play game. It's a can't-miss idea that's fun and almost worth the $10 extra itself. I do think Laser Hockey is fun, even if it's just Pong put through the filter of Lumines by Nintendo. It's neat, but there isn't a deeper reason to play after you've seen it once or twice.

(My friend Jason owns it now, the bastard.) The point is that little game in Wario Ware has staying power. This doesn't compare well to the fun shooting game from Wario Ware the high score slot for that game is always up for grabs in my house and it gets a lot of play. Sure you can hit a few targets and then hit a duck for bonus points, but it's over in a few minutes and it's just not fun enough to go back to. I had heard there would be a Duck Hunt-like game in WiiPlay, and although there is grass on the ground and ducks flying by, it's really just a generic shooting game.

After a few hours with the games included in the game though, I don't know if I'll ever pick up the title again. This is Wiimote number three for me, so it wasn't bad. That's the only way to look at it if you have four Wiimotes already, this is not worth your time or money. So you get a third or fourth Wiimote and a $10 game that will amuse you for a few minutes. You have to look at it like it's a $10 game or you're going to be very disappointed by the experience. Let's get this out of the way first: Wii Play is not a $50 game.
